Apush DBQ Sample Essay Review
Apush DBQ Sample Essay ReviewHere's my Apush DBQ sample essay. I have reviewed the first two chapters and this is how I would review the rest of the book. Apush's book is an excellent resource for anyone who has written a college term paper or dissertation. I did find it difficult to read the book at times because the writing was a little challenging for me at times. The first chapter of Apush DBQ, The Ghost Writer and He Who Shapes His Words presents the main idea for the book. This is a brief description of what happens as the writer or essayist transitions from writing in real time in order to answer a question to the writer/essayist transitioning into writing in the mode of 'writing in motion.' In other words, the writer transitions into the mode of writing of ideas and thoughts instead of the person normally would when writing a college term paper or dissertation. The idea is that there is a difference between writing in 'real time' and writing in a different type of writing. As a writer, the student must learn how to move into a new mode. The transitions are discussed at length in this chapter. It was also interesting to me to read about the many writers that were turned down for jobs at various news media outlets. The reason was that the writer could not transition from 'real time' to 'writing in motion.'Chapter two, A Look at the Do's and Don'ts of Writing, contains eight do's and seven don'ts for students to consider when writing their essays. Some examples are to provide sufficient information and supporting data, supply an accurate definition of the essay topic, make your essay well formatted, keep your essay succinct, stick to your theme, avoid plagiarism, consider the genre of the essay, and proofread the essay.Chapter three, The Hiring Process for Writers, is a good read for students planning to enter into the future of their careers. The author provides the rationale behind the list of seven things not to do in the job search process. These include not creating letters of recommendation, not having an extensive Internet search history, using the Internet to create contacts, creating professional looking resumes, overusing MLA format, not mentioning creative or specialized knowledge, not paying attention to the job market for applicants with your specialty, and not stating a purpose for applying for a position that would be clearly articulated in your curriculum vitae. The author then goes into specifics of each of these seven items and some other things to consider. The last chapter, The Authors Note, is not so much a chapter as it is a synopsis of the other chapters. For example, the authors note that there are four key factors to successful essay writing: Conflict Resolution, High Intention, Application, and Relation. Also, the authors note that the field of modern English composition as a whole is experiencing a tremendous shift in its focus from 'fixed grammar' to 'disciplined word usage.' These shifting can cause problems in writing the essay. There are several suggestions for essay writing, such as the following:There are many more potential problem areas in this book. However, I think that the problems that were raised in this short chapter is enough to warrant purchasing this book. In addition, the book is a good introduction to some of the challenges that writers students will encounter. And if you are like me, you'll be motivated to put more thought into the writing of your essay's and get more familiar with the rules and traditions of essay writing. It can be quite overwhelming trying to navigate through this very dynamic and fast-moving world of writing. The final chapter, How to Write an Essay are all about writing and is also one of the best chapters in the book. You'll learn some tips for writing 'the big one,' how to find a job and a suitable company to work for, how to type an essay, writing samples for internet usage, the most important qualities that make a great essay, and how to write a new research paper.
